About TESOL
A Community of Teaching, Learning & Serving Excellence
TESOL UMC is a ministry of the United Methodist Church, operating as an educational institution under Congolese law with a parent-based school board.
Our purpose is to provide excellent English education in a Christian community environment which aims to see students become mature Christians with a Biblical worldview and a heart to serve God in the capacity for which He equips them.

To provide a Christian educational community as a center of teaching, learning and serving excellence, founded on biblically based beliefs, values and behavior.

Our Vision
Founded in 1987, TESOL has been serving the international community of Lubumbashi for over three decades.
Kindergarten through Grade 12
We offer education in English for students from Kindergarten (age 5) through to Grade 12.
For children for whom English is new, TESOL UMC offers an extra one year intensive English learning course to learn to speak, read and write standard English.
The school year runs September through June with three terms: September - December, January through March, and April - June.

Our Mission
We pursue our vision from a Biblical base by aiming:
"Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ" — Colossians 1:28
